The Skate Works Safeguarding Policy
This policy outlines how The Skate Works protects children and vulnerable adults involved in our roller sports activities. The safety and wellbeing of all participants is our top priority.

1. Scope
This policy applies to all coaches, volunteers, players, and parents involved in club activities.
2. Responsibilities
- Safeguarding Officers: Phillip Mulvana and Ben Webb are responsible for safeguarding concerns, advice, and referrals.
- Coaches and Session Hosts:
- Manage sessions in line with the community charter
- Report any concerns immediately to the Safeguarding officers
- Ensure interactions with children and vunerable adults only take place with another person present
- Parents and spectators:
- May not take photographs without express permission of session hosts
- Under no circumstances may enter changing rooms
- Qualified coaches holding DBS checks only
- Maintain a level of decency commensurate with our community charter
- Any breach of the charter (language, abuse, etc) will result in removal
3. Reporting Concerns
- Concerns may be raised by anyone
- Any concern, suspicion, or disclosure of abuse should be reported to the Club Safeguarding Officer without delay by alerting the session host.
- If a child or person is in immediate danger, call 999.
4. Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or when there is a major change in safeguarding legislation or guidance.

The Skate Works is committed to protecting your privacy. We only collect the personal information necessary to process your booking and deliver our roller sports sessions; typically your name, email address, and booking details.
Our bookings and payments are handled securely through our site and the Amelia booking system. We do not store payment card details, and we never collect more personal data than is required to provide our services.
Your information is processed under the lawful basis of contract, as it is needed to confirm and manage your booking. We will never sell or share your data with third parties, except where required to provide our services or by law.
We store your data securely and only for as long as necessary to fulfil your booking and meet our legal obligations. You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time.
